Alberto Hernández, better known by his artist name Luar, is an international, Lisbon-based music producer, composer, songwriter and multifaceted creative working in Portuguese, English & Spanish.

His passion for music began at an early age as a hobby, taking part in his local community, collaborating with other artists and playing in several bands. These experiences led him to develop his own self-taught skills in music production. Since then he has contributed to the works of several artists as a producer and also as a composer for award-winning films and other projects. This includes composing and producing the 2024 Festival da Canção winner, “Grito,” with iolanda the song that will represent Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden.

Luar also displays his DIY approach to creativity and artistic fervor as a content creator blending his musicianship with his skills as a designer and video editor, generating content that reflects and complements his work as producer and composer.

In 2024 he will be releasing his first-ever solo music project “a beleza de todas as coisas”: a multidisciplinary tale that explores the coming of age journey of self-expression, reaching adulthood and the growing pains that come with it.

Luar also co-founded and developed AVALANCHE, an artist collective based in Lisbon that seeks to push forward the positive spirit of artist co-creation. In 2022 the group released their first record “VOLUME I,” a ground-breaking approach to Portuguese pop music, featuring 18 different artists.
